Reindeer Ornament

I was in the mood to create a Christmas ornament and this is what I came up with.
The tag shape was cut from the "winter frolic" Cricut cartridge at 5 inches. I cut it 3 times in my Expression; once from patterned paper; once from SU Kraft card stock (for the back side); and finally once from thin chipboard (I used a Pop Tart box). I used distress ink (vintage photo) around all the edges and adhered the three pieces together using Mod Podge. I mixed a little PearlEx "sparkle gold" powder with some Mod Podge and brushed it over the front and back of the tag. Makes it sparkle!!
The poinsettia was cut from the "winter woodland" Cricut cartridge in three different sizes; two at 3";
one at 2-1/2"; and one at 2". I crumpled them up and inked the edges with "fired brick" distress ink. I also cut the coordinating leaves from the poinsettia cut at 3" in green card stock and distressed it as well.
The reindeer was cut from the "winter woodland" Cricut cartridge at 2-1/2" in the blackout feature. I added some flat back adhesive pearls around his neck, a black gem for his eye, and some bling for his nose ( I didn't have any red bling or I would of used that)
Thanks for taking a look.

Altered Tablet

I purchased this tablet from my local Dollar General. It measures 5-3/4" x 9".
I covered it using K&Co "Peabody" collection and also "life's journey" collection. Using a foam brush, I lightly brushed on a bit of "sheer gold glaze" over my patterned paper, dried it a little with my heat gun. I distressed the edges with "vintage photo" ink. I did this same technique to all the papers I will be adding.
This next strip of paper, I ran it through my Cuttlebug using the "Victoria" embossing folder. I brushed the sheer gold glaze onto the raised parts and distressed with vintage photo ink and added glossy accents.
I cut this marquee shape from the "Storybook" Cricut cartridge at 7". Again, I brushed it with the sheer gold glaze and distressed with vintage photo ink.
I cut this birdcage from "Straight from the Nest" Cricut cartridge at 5". I cut it first in a light weight chipboard and then again in my patterned paper. I glued it together with Zig 2-way glue. I brushed it with the sheer gold glaze and distressed with the vintage photo ink. For added interest I applied small gold half beads to the cage, dangle beads for the bottom and a gem for the birds wing.
I created these flowers myself just by layering some Prima "got flowers", crumpled them up, distressed each layer with vintage photo ink, sheer gold glaze and glossy accents along the edges. I hot glued all the layers together. The leaves were also distressed the same way. I was going to use that piece of lace but decided not to when putting everything together.
I tied this Stampin" Up satin ribbon into a bow, added a small pin and tag. The metal frame I distressed and added an alphabet sticker to it.
Now, when I put it all together here is what I got.

My Pink Stamper Color Challenge

What a FAST and FUN 3 month term it's been being a member of the My Pink Design Team. Here is my project for the last challenge, which Robyn chose to do a color challenge using BROWN, GREEN, ORANGE, and PINK.

I used "straight from the nest" Cricut cartridge for the birds, which was the "border feature" and cut them at 3-1/2". The sentiment is from the "tweety-hoo" stamp set by My Pink Stamper. Paper is My Minds Eye and the cardstock is DCWV. I also used some wiggle eyes, a white pen, and a scallop border punch.

I would like to thank Robyn for a being a WONDERFUL design team leader and also for giving me this awesome opportunity and the ladies that I served with were FANTASTIC. Last but not least, I'd like to thank YOU, my viewers, for following me, supporting me, and leaving comments THANKS EVERYONE!

GOOD LUCK TO THE FUTURE DESIGN TEAM!!!

June "summer fun" project

For My Pink Design Team June project, the theme was "summer fun"!

I used "everyday paper dolls" Cricut cartridge for the grass, sun, and cloud......"create a critter" for the bird......"just because cards" for the tree.

The "fun memories" are from My Pink Stamper stamps "friends & family" set. For the sun's face I used Peachy Keen's "everyday character face assortment".

Cardstock and pattern paper is DCWV "flower shower stack". I did a lot of white stitch lines for a more "playful" feel!

HELLO THURSDAY

After all the excitement of the new 24 Lite cartridges and the variety of those, I couldn't even begin to think of what type of cartridges would be released today on HELLO THURSDAY. Well, much to my surprise it was three Seasonals...H2O...Pumpkin Carving...and...October 31st. "Truck" card

This card was my May "family" themed project for My Pink Design Team. I know, I'm posting it pretty late here, better late than never right!!  All of the papers are Stampin' Up. The truck was cut from the "heritage" Cricut cartridge. The sentiment was stamped using My Pink Stamper stamps "friends & family". This card could be used for a birthday or even for Father's day.

"Elk" card

Here is a card I made using one of the new "Criut Lite" cartridges called "Wildlife". It was the only new cartridge that my Wal-Mart had at the time, but I am hoping that after this Thursday and the official release, that my store will get the others in as well...I'm keeping my fingers crossed! This cartridge is great if you have an outdoors man or hunter in the family. Not only does it have the animal images but also wordage, very cool! Now on to the card, I cut the elk at 4 inches as well as the layers. All of the cardstock and pattern paper is Stampin' Up. The sentiment is from the My Pink Stamper stamps "family & friends". I ran the blue cardstock through my Cuttlebug using the "Moroccan" embossing folder.

Cricut Lite cartridges.

Exciting things are happening this week, as Provo Craft is officially releasing 24 of these new "Cricut lite" cartridges, which, from my understanding, you can purchase at your local Wal-Mart. Be sure to check this Thursday, June 10 for a special addition of HELLO THURSDAY!!! How exciting. Also on Thursday you may want to check out a few blogs RobynJoyMelanie, and Tammy as these ladies will be sharing projects they've made using these new releases.

Busy, busy, busy...

Hi everyone. I've been busy, but not becasue I was crafting. Although I was able to make some cards in between going to softball games and tournaments.

The tweety bird card was cut using the "create a critter" Cricut cartridge and the branch was cut from the "straight from the nest" Cricut cartridge. I used my Cuttlebug to emboss the branch and leaves. The sentiment "super tweet" is from My Pink Stamper stamps punny-licious set. The pattern paper is K&Co "que sera, sera".

For this owl card I used the "create a critter" Cricut cartridge. The sentiment says "whooooooo loves you" and is from the My Pink Stamper stamps punny-licious set. The paper and cardstock is DCWV.

Thanks for taking a look. Have a great day!

My NSD "colors of the rainbow" Challenge

Looks like I'm up! Here is my challenge for My Pink Stamper. It's a color challenge using the colors of the rainbow. This layout is easy to put together and a great way to use up all those scraps of paper and cardstock. The squares are cut at 2x2 and the large photo was cut to 4x4. I used the "lyrical letters" Cricut cartridge as well as "base camp" for the title.

National Scrapbook Day!

Pressed for time??? Let the pattern paper do the work for you. This DCWV "all dressed up" paper already had the bling and great patterns going for it. All I did was fold this 8x8 sheet in half and use a scallop punch along the side edges and there is your card base. I used the "Indie Art" Cricut cartridge for the large butterfly, while the smaller ones are from a SU! embosslit. The "you rock!" sentiment is from My Pink Stamper stamps called "family & friends".
This card is also easy to put together in a short amount of time. I used just two cardstock colors and the matching pattered paper. The flourish was cut using the "potpourri basket" Cricut cartridge. The "family" sentiment is from My Pink Stamper stamps called "family & friends".
Again, this card is pretty simple, just a few more layers and some embossing. I used the "Plantin School Book" Cricut cartridge to cut my letters and then placed them into the "diamond plate" embossing folder and run it through my Cuttlebug. I used my SU! "curly label" punch, folded it in half and stamped my sentiment "on your special day" from My Pink Stamper stamps called "family & friends".

My Pink Designer's Tuesday

It's Tuesday again and it is Pam and I's turn to share a project for the My Pink Stamper Design Team. Spring treats was the theme and this is what I came up with. I used the "sweet treats" Cricut cartridge for the holder, which was a cupcake holder. I used the "fit to page" feature...in turn it cut at 11 inches. The butterflies are Stampin' Up and the paper is DCWV. I also used My Pink stamper Stamps "celebrate today" simply sweet occasions, for the little hanging mini tag.
Have a wonderful day!

"Softball" layout

My oldest daughter is playing softball this year. It's her first time playing. She had her first game on the 19th and these are some pictures I had taken. I used the "sports mania" Cricut cartridge for the word softball and for the ball. The star border is a Martha Stewart punch. Pattern paper and cardstock is from the 2008 "summer stack" by DCWV and the kraft cardstock is Stampin' Up. I am sure I will do a few more softball layouts:-) Have a great day!

My Pink Designer's

It's Tuesday, you know what that means? More projects from My Pink Designer's. This week we will see Karla and Rowena. Again, the theme for this month is "spring treats".

"Ice cream sundae" card

It must have been that I was hungry for ice cream that I made this ice cream sundae card. I used the "sweet treats" cricut cartridge (page 30) and cut all parts at 7.5 inches. It was pretty simple to layer up. I used my Cuttlebug as well, swiss dots, harlequin, floral fantasy, and d'vine swirl. I wanted to make the sundae cup look like a real cup, so I cut a page protector apart and placed it onto my Cricut cutting mat and cut out the "blackout" layer of the image. Next, I just cut off the ice cream portion and that left me with the "cup" portion. I adhered it to another "blackout" layer that I cut from cardstock and ran both pieces through my Cuttlebug giving me a "glass" look. The "sweet" stamp is from "simply sweet occasions" by My Pink Stamper. Thanks for visiting have a great day.

First challenge for My Pink Stamper

Today Robyn aka My Pink Stamper posted a color challenge using your Cricut and the colors pink, green, and black. Also posted were the projects made by the Pink Design Team. Here was my project.

The card base is a standard size. The papers and cardstock are all DCWV. The skunk was cut from the "create a critter" cartridge at 3.5 inches. I used my Cuttlebug (swiss dots)  for the light pink layer of the skunk. I thought this first challenge was fun and I love the colors that Robyn chose for it.

I tend to do only one task at a time until it's finished before starting anything new.
I am a gum chewer...Trident is my fave.
I played 4 years of high school softball and 4 years of summer league.
I am a big Penn State Fan!!
I love watching baseball...Atlanta Braves are my fave.

Thank You Everyone...

I have to say that I am completely overwhelmed at the responses I am receiving. THANK YOU SO MUCH! You ladies are so kind and supportive. I really do appreciate you visiting, leaving comments, and becoming followers. You guys ROCK!!!!

"Happy Mother's Day" two page layout.

I just finished up this Mother's Day layout. The photo sizes are 4x6 and 3.25x6. I just placed the "blank photos" on for now and when I get photos I can remove the blanks and add real photos.
The papers and card stock are DCWV "Nana's nursery-baby boy" stack. Now I do not have boys, but I liked the colors in this stack and thought they would be great for this layout.
All of the flowers I put together, using the "sweet treats" cartridge. After cutting them out, I stiffened each of the flowers with mod podge which I mixed with PeralEx "macropearl"...they are shimmery in person. I folded the tips of the flowers for added dimension and held them together with a Stampin' Up brad.
The title was cut using the "Mother's Day" mini cartridge. I added some mini pearls for fun.
That's pretty much it. Thank you for looking!

My entry for "My Pink Designers"

This was my entry for My Pink Designer. The basket was cut from the "Easter" cartridge and the shamrock from "designer's calendar" cartridge. The face stamp is Peachy Keen Stamps "everyday character face assortment". The paper and cardstock is DCWV and from an older spring stack that I had. To make the grass inside the basket I cut thin strips from the left over paper and ran it through my Fiskars "wavy" crimper.

I was choosen to be a "Pink Designer" on My Pink Stamper. It was a total surprise as Robyn, Karlee, and Tammy announced the names during the live Ustream this evening. Congrats to all who was picked. This will be FUN!!!

"May" calendar page.

Here is my May calendar page. I know, it doesn't officially say "May" on it...but this is my daughter's birthday month so I thought I'd make a special page for her. With that being said here are the details. The photo sizes are 5x3 and 3x3. The pattern papers are BasicGrey "cupcake". The cardstock is a variety of Bazzill, DCWV, and Stampin' Up. The only thing I cut with my Cricut were the triangles for the banner. I used the "sweet treats" cartridge on page 44 of the handbook, it is the party hat cut! I just cut enough of those to spell out happy birthday and for some added interest I made stitched lines with my white pen. The alpha stamp is "doodle alphabet" by Close To My Heart. The "pleated paper" technique I got from Megan...thanks Megan!! The distressed flower I made, THANKS to Christina for the GREAT tutorial, using my SU scallop circle punch. I punched five scallops from a piece of pattern paper, crumpled them up, poked a hole in the middle, and put them onto a medium sized brad. I fussed with the scallops a little bit and adhered it to the page. I like how this one turned out. Thank you for visiting.

Happy Sunday...

Thought I would share some digital layouts I had made using PSE6.

First day of spring...

Finally it's here! I didn't think I'd make it, especially after the Febuary we had with all the snow. It has been very spring like here mid 60's and sunny...LOVE THAT!

We're getting our vegetable garden ready this weekend plus getting things prepared for our new deck. I hope to have that done by the end of May, but we'll see what happens.

On a scrapping note, I've been working on my May calendar page, just fussing over some paper flowers I had cut from my Cricut. Since it had been nice out, my projects have slowed down.

Just one more day...

Tomorrow is "Hello Thursday" at  Cricut.com. Be sure to check there, as they will be announcing some new Cricut cartridges. I am not sure exactly when they make these announcements, just check a few times. The last time Provo Craft announced new cartridges, the messageboard was so jammed that I could not get in. If this happens to you, there are a couple of other places that I heard of that are sharing the exciting news as well...be sure to check My Pink Stamper or Everyday Cricut or Obsessed with Scrapbooking or Courtney Lane Designs.

How thoughtful...

What a nice surprise from Cyndi's Craft Corner. I was excited to see that I had received this "Beautiful Blog" award. Thank you so much Cyndi. So the rules are, tell 7 things that someone would not know about me.
1. my favorite color is green.
2. I had braces in high school.
3. I live in the country, but we don't farm.
4. we have 2 dogs.
5. I'm shy.
6. I love scary movies.
7. I am a stay at home mom.

Monday, March 15, 2010

It's a new work week...

Here we are Monday again. It is still wet and soggy here. The front yard is pretty much like a marsh and keeping the dogs out of it is impossible. So, we've gone though three old bath towels this weekend for drying off the dogs as they come inside...ahhh spring! Hopefully this will all dry up very soon.

On a scrapping note, I've been cleaning/purging and re-organizing my scrap closet. I've found a new spot for my Cricut cartridges, so no more searching through my rolling tote to get the one I need. I am still going through some bits and scraps of paper/card stock that have just been accumulating and throwing a lot away...I didn't realize that it had piled up so badly. It feels refreshing that I no longer have to scrap out of my tote bags...maybe I can use things now that I had forgot I had, because it was lost in the bottom of my bag somewhere. There will be some major excitement this Thursday on the Cricut message boards, as Provo Craft announces a bunch of new cartridges...I can't wait!!!

Saturday, March 13, 2010

"April" calendar page.

Here is my April calendar page. I used the same layout template as the March calendar page, though I did move a couple pieces around. I used "designer's calendar" cricut cartridge for both April and Easter and I used pop dots to raise them off the page.. I made the flowers myself and spritzed them with my homemade glimmer spray. The bunny is a punch out and was already embossed. Most of the papers are from last years "spring stack" by DCWV.
