Provo Craft banner contest

"WOW" was all I could say, when they posted my banner on Cricut's FB page as a winning banner. I remember I had to refresh a couple times just to be sure I was seeing the right thing. It wasn't until I actually saw my name that it really sunk in. I remember calling my mom and asking her if she'd seen that Jinger had shown this banner on tv...she was channel surfing and said that she missed it. So we hung up and I went back to stalking Cricut's FB page and that's when I saw my banner posted on the page...wait...what?!?...Oh my gosh!!! Since Monday sfternoon, I've come down off my "E2 win high" and I am now impaitently waiting to get it in the mail. There were so many teriffic banners, from what I could see on Cricut's blog and that were shown on HSN during the airings. Making these banners was fun. Thank you Provo Craft:-)

Mini halloween banner

Okay, so here is yet another banner. I couldn't resist making this mini "all hallows eve" banner with the left over scraps from the previous banner. For the banner shape I used the "50 States" Cricut cartridge. I found the shape in the flag function and altered it with my Gypsy, using the "hide" feature and hiding all the extra lines on the inside of the flag. Again, I made the paper rosette and the letters are some older chipboard pieces that I had. I stamped a spider web image onto each letter with black StazOn. I hot glued them to the rosettes.

Trick or Treat banner

I am going banner crazy here...my goodness! I scrap-lifted this banner idea from Jana Eubank on YouTube. I think she used five Cricut cartridges and out of the five I had two, so I had to alter her design to fit my cartridge library. I used "Storybook" cartridge for the font. I made the paper rosettes myself, layering three together. The triangles are the same as from my Cricut banner. The lollipops are from the "Mini Monsters" cartridge. I used tulle to string it all together.

Second entry for the Cricut banner contest

For this banner, I used my Gypsy to make these long thin triangles. The scallop triangle came from the "Calligraphy Collection" Cricut cartridge...altered with my Gypsy. The regular triangle shape was from "George"...altered with my Gypsy to match the scallop triangle. There is a circle doily cut that was made from the "Easter 2010" Cricut cartridge. I made the paper rosettes and layered two together. The star was also cut from "George" using the shadow feature. Lastly, the font is "Printing Press" using the tall function. I inked everything with "vintage photo" distress ink and did some heat embossing on the star.

Cricut banner contest

So Cricut is having a banner contest this month. Rules are simple; has to be a "pennant style" and must spell out "Cricut". Any size or shape we'd like and we can enter two different banners. Here is one of my entries. For this green banner I used the "Hannah Montana" and "Potpourri Basket" Cricut cartridges. Lots of layers and foam adhesive. I strung it together with seam binding.
