Sunday, Sunday...

Just a day of staying inside and prepare for the upcoming school week. We have signed up Elizabeth for softball, not sure when that will get underway. She's excited to play and that's all that matters.

On another note, I have just received some exciting news, BUT I will mention that tomorrow....

My Pink Stamper Live

Head on over to My Pink Stamper to watch her Ustream video and for your chance to win some great prizes. Robyn had some exciting news about "pink designers" and a couple of secrets about upcoming cricut cartridges and her new stamps. Can't wait.

"Puppy" card

I think this puppy turned out so cute. I have to thank Nikki http://scrappinnavywife.blogspot.com/ for the inspiration of this card. She made her puppy a girl...seeing how we have boy dogs, I did without the pink bow. The puppy image is from "everyday paper dolls" cartridge. I cut it once in the "shadow" feature, so I could stamp that sweet face. I cut the "regular" cut, so I could cut off the ears and two front legs...I popped those up on the "shadow" cut. I used "creamy caramel" ink to shadow the ears, legs and for overall color. Just some thin ribbon for the collar and a jump ring.

"Happy Easter" card

Here is a chocolate bunny card. I used my Gypsy and "Gyspy Wanderings" to weld two bunnies (shadow function) to form the card base with brown Bazzill cardstock. I then cut one shadow bunny, in the same color cardstock as the base, to make a layer, so the ears would look normal, as opposed to having them folded. I ran that through my Cuttlebug using the "swiss dots" folder, I also inked the edges with "close to cocoa" ink. I used  cream colored cardstock to make the "regular" bunny cut, inked the edges with "creamy caramel" ink. I used dimensionals on the back side and placed onto the embossed bunny piece. Tied a bow in chocolate satin ribbon and added another thin ribbon on top. I stamped "Happy Easter" with "chocolate chip" ink.

"A note of appreciation" card

This card is for our neighbor across the road, who came over after the heavy snow and blew out our driveway. I used the same papers as my "thanks so much" card.

Sharing my make-n-takes.

I had mentioned a couple days ago that I was invited to a Stampin' Up open house, which was this past weekend. I had a great time and was able to make all four of the projects.
These sweet treat cups are just soo cute. We made a trap door on the inside so the candies could be removed. The arrow sentiment says..."wishing you the sweetest day ever".

I love making these tri-shutter cards.

A couple things...

Woops! I've missed a few days posting. I've had a couple of sick little girls and husband. Now they were not down and out miserable, but just enough to slow them down. Everyone is feeling better and I am trying to disinfect the house now...

I have been able to make a couple of homemade "Prima type" flowers. Thanks to Christina and her super tutorials and creative ways, that I have learned to make these. I'll add some photos tomorrow.
Here are 3 paper flowers I made from some scraps laying around. The pink flower is made of DCWV cardstock. I punched four circles, crumpled them up, stacked them up, poked a hole in the middle and fastened with a brad and I added stickles to the edges.
The yellow flower is made with five 2"scallop circles that I punched from patternd paper, but if you had a cricut cartridge with scallops you could cut from that. I got each scallop wet and crumpled them up. Be very careful not to rip them as you unfold them. I stacked them, poked a hole in the middle and fastened with a brad. I set the flower using my heat gun, just to get a shape. You can add stickles, glimmer mist, inks, etc. I did not as I was just practicing.
The black flower is also four circles of patterned paper. I used my bone folder to break the fibers of the paper. By doing this the edges of the paper will separate. I stacked them, poked a hole in the middle and fastened with a brad. I then used my homemade shimmer mist...in this case I used "pearl" and sprayed it after I had the flower together.

Here is a "thank you" card. The card base is 3-1/2" square. Paper is from Stampin' Up "good neighbor" collection.

Let's get caught up

Well the extra snow came, just a little. I just keep telling myself ..."spring is only around the corner"...
Valentine's Day was good. We made the girls heart shaped pancakes...which they thought were just great. Later in the evening we had all gone out to eat and afterwards walked around Lowe's...my husbands favorite store. Speaking of husbands...today is Chris's birthday.

I hope to have some new projects posted as I am working on a couple. I was invited to attend a Stampin' Up open house this weekend and  a crop the following weekend. Hope to get something done.

"Be mine" Vday card

Here is a Valentine card using the elephant from the Paisley cartridge. Paper and cardstock are Stampin' Up. This card was inspired from seeing Enfys quick card Monday take over at http://www.cricutholiday.com/ I made the inside of the card simple with just a small embellishment. Thanks for taking a look.

Snowed in...again!

Okay, now really...I've had enough of this snow. Granted I'm not nor do I have to travel in it, but come on...I'm not sure how much we got this second time around because of the wind blowing it all over the place. I am anxious to see tomorrow morning what the drifts will look like. Hopefully I can get some pictures before the dogs run all through them.

I was able to start making a couple Valentine's cards for the girls' teachers. I should be able to finish them tomorrow.

A quick Valentine card.

Here is a small 3x4 Valentine card I made. I used the "swiss dots" CB folder on the white cardstock. The pink scallop is the "scallop trim" border punch from SU, and the hearts were punched from glittered cardstock using the "heart to heart" punch from SU. I stamped along the bottom using "teeny tiny wishes" stamp set from SU. The hearts are all on pop dots for added interest.

Back to the old grind...

Well, we managed the snow storm and we can see our driveway again! Unfortunately we are expecting another storm Tuesday and/or Wednesday. Hurry up SPRING!!!

On another note I have been cleaning, reorganizing, and purging my scrap stash. I am just about finished moving my things into a new area as well. You seem to forget somethings that you have once you have accumulated a lot of products.

"Snow angel" layout

This is a layout that I did last winter, but seeing how we had a lot of snow today I thought I'd share this.

Snowed in....

Wow, we sure do get large drifts here. Hard to say how much snow we had because it has blown all over the place leaving bare spots and large snow mounds throughout the yard. The girls and dogs are loving it, while Chris is trying to get the snow blower working....

More snow on the way

Well old man winter is back again. The forecast is more snow...I was really liking the idea of seeing the grass, granted it's dormant grass, but still!

Christina is getting better. I kept her from school again today and in doing so, she missed out on being in her class photo.

Aaahhh...germs in the house...

Well the youngest has been tested for strep and it came back positive. Though she is not down and out, she's still playing and eating, so that's good. Luckily I took her to the doctor today as we're getting a snow storm tomorrow.

I hope to be posting some projects this weekend and working on some new things as well.

Exciting news!

I was over on http://www.aboverubiesstudio.com and Megan is doing a DT call. So I thought to myself, "why not"...so I dug out some layouts, cards, and past projects that I had done and submitted them!! This is the first time ever I had entered anything scrap related.
